Afghan musicians flee Kabul, fearing for their lives and dire future for art under Taliban rule

In order to continue her passion for sports, female Afghan lightweight boxing champion Seema Rezai was forced to leave Afghanistan after the Taliban issued death threats to her. The member of the national female boxing team Rezai told Sputnik that she decided to leave the homeland alone, without her family, as she wanted to continue her boxing training.

Officials say they want to integrate the opposing forces, but have not spelled out how this will happen -- or how they will sustain a security apparatus made up of around 600,000 people.

The Taliban say they have granted a general amnesty to everyone who worked for the former government -- including the army, police and other security branches.
